The Alpinestars SM3 Radium Youth Helmet is a testament to dedicated youth rider safety and performance. Its lightweight outer shell is constructed from a thermo-injected, impact-resistant thermoplastic, utilizing a special polymer blend with varying thicknesses to achieve an optimal balance of protection and a mere 1060g weight. Designed to grow with your rider, the Youth Medium and Youth Large sizes share the same EPS liner, allowing for future configuration to a larger size through genuine Alpinestars spare crown and cheek pads. The helmet features a multiple-density inner liner, strategically placed for enhanced impact absorption and overall weight reduction. Crucially, both inner and outer surfaces are engineered to minimize the effects of oblique impacts, further bolstered by Alpinestars' patented low-friction coating on the main EPS liner. This innovative layer acts as a slip plane, reducing rotational acceleration forces during certain impacts, mimicking the brain's natural defense. Safety is paramount, with an in-house standard for chin protection exceeding homologation requirements, an Emergency Release System for safe cheek pad removal, a 25mm soft textile chin strap, and secure stainless steel D-rings.
