The Hot Rods Connecting Rod Kit is engineered to withstand the rigors of high-performance engines. Manufactured from certified 8620 AISI steel, the connecting rod offers exceptional strength. The crankpins are made from hot-rolled ASTM 4115 and case hardened to a level of 58-62Rc, providing enhanced durability and resistance to wear. Featuring the latest in caged needle roller bearing designs, this kit ensures high rpm longevity. The uniquely designed big end incorporates strategically located side scalloping and vent slots to minimize bearing race distortion at high rpm. Small ends are double drilled, supplying extra lubrication and cooling to the wrist pin bearing, which is crucial when the piston crown is close to the wrist pin bearing. Each rod is shot-peened to eliminate surface stress risers and smoothly blend together the rod forging's radiuses. Double honing ensures an ultra-round bearing surface for reliability at high rpm.
