Description
The Hot Rods Connecting Rod Kit is designed as a heavy-duty OE replacement, offering enhanced durability and performance. Manufactured from certified 8620 AISI steel, the connecting rod provides exceptional strength and resistance to wear. The crankpins are made from hot-rolled ASTM 4115 steel, case hardened to a level of 58-62Rc, ensuring exceptional durability and resistance to wear. The kit features the latest caged needle roller bearing designs, promoting high rpm longevity. The uniquely designed big end incorporates strategically located side scalloping and vent slots to minimize bearing race distortion at high rpm. Small ends are double drilled to provide extra lubrication and cooling to the wrist pin bearing, particularly crucial when the piston crown is close to the wrist pin bearing. Shot-peening eliminates surface stress risers, smoothly blending together the rod forging's radiuses, while double honing produces an ultra-round bearing surface for enhanced reliability at high rpm. Compatible with both Hot Rods and OE crankshafts, this kit is made in the USA, guaranteeing quality and precision.
