Description
The S&S Cycle Crankcase Breather Reed Valve utilizes a new-style design that operates independently of crankshaft rotation. Instead, precision reeds respond dynamically to pressure differentials between the crankcase and cam chest. The reeds open when crankcase pressure exceeds cam chest pressure, and close when the pressures equalize or when cam chest pressure becomes greater. This "on-demand" operation eliminates lag time associated with air displacement, especially during rapid acceleration. The result is increased performance and the prevention of oil carryover at high RPMs, particularly in engines with less-than-perfect piston ring seals. Installation is straightforward, with no need for intricate timing mark alignments or dealing with rotating parts, making this a user-friendly and effective upgrade.
